“…once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act.”

Stomach Bug

Ugh! I don't know how I caught it, but I had heard it was going around. The stomach bug. :-(

I seriously would not wish this on my worst enemy. Not that I really have a worst enemy... but if I did...you get what I mean.

Being this sick made me think... what if I had come down with this six months from now? How do you moms do it? How do you handle being so sick and then so weak from dehydration and not eating while still taking care of your children? I rarely ever call in sick to work (maybe twice since I've been with my current employer of four years?), but at least I have that "luxury." Moms? Not so much. Just because the thought of food makes you literally sick to your stomach, doesn't mean your kids can go a meal without eating.

So moms, tell me. How do you do it?

How do you do it? So no one told you about that super human power you get the moment you bring the kiddos home? Well, it's a well kept secret. :) Seriously, though, when it's really bad, you enlist the help of others. My guess is you'll have a hard time asking others for help..I did (and still do) but don't feel bad, others will be more than willing to help. And your kiddos will be thankful to have someone else who's not laying on the bathroom floor. :)

I hope you're better soon, Kat. I don't know about the mommy stuff. But I do know that tomorrow will take care of itself... our Lord says so :o) You're my hero!

I had the same our second night with Alina. I remember being in the hotel bed wondering why God would take me from this world two days after becoming a mom and in Russia no less. Obviously, I recovered and made it through. And that is what you do! Somehow, you just find a way to do it. On the days I have not felt well with the kids at home, it just becomes a movie free for all if I do not have help available! Thinking of you this week and hoping you feel better!

Sick day game plan #1: Call Uncle and have signifigant other stay home with the kids

Sick day game plan #2: Ship the angels off to grandparents/aunts uncles/friendly neighbors lest they get the sick too, and you'll all be sick together. (SO not fun, trust me)

Sick day game plan #3: Set up a "safe zone" for the kiddos to play in, with nothing breakable in it. Let them play, pop in a DVD, and zone out on the floor.

Sick day game plan #4: Be a complete Martyr, and do everything as you normally would, and when it's their bedtime you go and pass out in bed yourself.

Over the past 3 years we've employed all of these in one way or another.

Hope you're on the mend soon!
